Masr International is Hany Hassan, Shady Mohamed and Yury Vasilchenko
The two young Egyptian entrepreneurs began their successful business in 2009 and since then have made their mark in real estate and rentals and also as a tourist service company facilitating: hotel reservation, travel within Egypt including organised groups or private tours and guides, drivers and private cars.
In 2010 the entrepreneurs set up an Arabic/English language school in downtown Cairo, after several requests and recommendations from fellow students at the AUC and Canadian School and various clients.
Both Hany and Shady have a background in hotel management and hospitality and have many links in the trade. Hany has contacts with Conrad, Movenpick and Hilton in Cairo and at various hotels in the desirable resort of El Gouna and Shady has a family line of hoteliers and real estate agents. Yury is currently setting up links in America.
Within Cairo they specialise in the areas of Downtown, Maadi, Zamalek, Garden City and Mohandeseen but properties can also be sourced in other neighbourhoods. Their future aims are to expand offices to Zamalek and Masr Gedida (Heliopolis) and also into Europe and other international destinations.
Their clientele is mainly foreigners and the ex-pat community and as Shady says “We offer a service whereby we listen to the needs of our clients and respond to their specifications. We follow up with our clients and attend to any problems they may experience with their property or landlord. We understand the requirements of our diverse foreign clients and the expectations that they have, also the west to east culture shift they can experience”.
There are many ads for letting agents otherwise known as 'simsars' and the usual browse through sites such as Craigs List and Cairo Scholars etc will reveal many names and numbers – however many of those simsars will show you dirty rentals in unsavoury places or push you to go over your budget. The language school based at their office in Lazoghly Square, Cairo offers competitive Arabic/Ammeya tuition to non Arabic speakers. Hany Hassan believes that giving back to the community is a vital part of life and so he also has organised free lessons to Arab speakers wishing to learn English but without the funds to do so. Masr International continue this thread of charitable work with donations of clothes and food to the poorer areas of Cairo and Hany has a long term vision to also build a charity clinic to attend to the health needs of those in poverty.
